Screen sharing in WhatsApp video calls
WhatsApp is testing the ability to share device screen in video calls. This feature is being tested in both mobile and desktop versions of WhatsApp.
By using the new screen sharing button users can share their device screen while doing a video call. Currently, whenever the user share the screen their camera seems to be stopping itself till they stop sharing the screen.
Currently, this feature is being tested within specif beta testers.
Soon WhatsApp user might be able to send HD media files
WhatsApp is testing the ability to send HD-quality images and videos. With this feature users can send high resolution media files which will give the ability to attach higher quality files.
This feature will let users choose between sending a Standard quality and HD-quality of the attached file.
Even though this feature will improve the quality of attached files still there will be a slight quality loose because of a minor compression. So, if you want to send the original file without losing quality still you can use the documents feature.
Currently, this feature is available to some testers and restricted to high resolution images and videos.
WhatsApp testing video messages feature
WhatsApp is testing Video Messages feature to let users quickly send video messages. Users can switch between voice – video recording by tapping the button.
To be honest this implementation is a carbon copy of Telegram’s video messages feature.
Additionally, WhatsApp also changed the storage and data page by moving the Proxy up and removing media quality settings.
Currently, this feature is available only for testers only.
New user interface tweaks in WhatsApp
WhatsApp is getting a new emoji keyboard
WhatsApp is testing a redesigned emoji keyboard with top navigation. This keyboard is part of the overall user interface change in WhatsApp Android.
New compact group settings page in WhatsApp
WhatsApp is testing a redesigned group settings page in Android. This redesign includes labels and icons to easily identify each settings.
WhatsApp community pages redesign
WhatsApp is testing a redesigned community groups page as well the new community settings page to let community admins control who can add groups to the community.
WhatsApp missed called gone red
WhatsApp started to highlight missed call labels in red to make it more obvious for users.
WhatsApp getting MaterialYou buttons and elements
WhatsApp also adapting Google’s MaterialYou design elements and buttons around their Android application.
Additionally, WhatsApp also adding rounded corners for context menus.
Advance proxy settings in WhatsApp
After initially launching the proxy settings WhatsApp is now testing a more advanced proxy setup menu where the users can even select specif ports and so on.
Currently, this advance proxy settings is only available for testers.
Changes spotted in WhatsApp for Windows
Crop button in WhatsApp for Windows
WhatsApp added a new crop button in WhatsApp for Windows to quickly let users crop images while attaching.
Screen sharing in WhatsApp desktop
WhatsApp getting the ability to share screen while doing video calls from WhatsApp for Windows. This feature will let users share their entire screen or a selected window to all participants in the video call.
Edit messages in WhatsApp for windows
WhatsApp launched the ability to edit messages in WhatsApp for windows as well. We first spotted this feature in WhatsApp web.
Change “Text size” in WhatsApp for Windows
WhatsApp added a new settings option to increase/decrease text size within the application. Additionally, users can also use keyboard shortcuts to quickly change the text size.
WhatsApp promoting video calls and screen sharing feature
WhatsApp is promoting the screen sharing feature and 32 people video calls within the Windows application as text prompts.
