WhatsApp Changelog April 2024

This article is all about what happened to WhatsApp in the April 2024. When I say WhatsApp I meant WhatsApp for Android, Windows and Web. No I never meant iOS, Mac or iPadOS cause I would say I do not like it but you may already know that I cannot afford it : )

Disable link previews

A new settings toggled popped insight WhatsApp privacy settings to let users turn off/on link previews in chat.

Mute or Decline calls with call bar

A new call bar is being tested in WhatsApp Android. This will let users quickly decline or mute calls without leaving the chat screen.

Availability: WhatsApp Android Beta testers.

Record one video message and forward to everyone

Users can now forward the same video message that they recorded 2 weeks before and send it to anyone they want. Btw, only those who recorded can do this not the people who received it.

Mute annoying group calls

Finally you can mute those annoying boomer group call notifications with a the new group Notifications and sound setting.

Chat filters

Users can use chat filters on the top to filter WhatsApp messages. It has three filters for now All, Unread (Obviously the useful one) and Groups.

Quick taskbar actions in Windows 11

Windows 11 users can quickly start a new chat or call with this new quick taskbar actions.

Availability: Everyone who uses WhatsApp for Windows latest version.

Control banner notifications in Windows 11

A new visually pleasing notification setting has been added to control banner notifications in Windows.

WhatsApp in your browser got a new look

A new sidebar has been added to WhatsApp Web which look and feel good.

How to join WhatsApp Web Beta in 3 seconds?
