Create stickers from photos on Android
Android users can finally create stickers from photos in WhatsApp. They can also generate stickers with AI as usual.
In addition users can also quickly create a sticker from an image they received or sent from the context menu as well.
Currently, the ability to create stickers with photos available to Android beta testers, iOS, WhatsApp web and WhatsApp for Windows.
Send HD photos and videos by default
WhatsApp is testing the ability to set default media upload quality to HD.
Previously this feature was available in a different way and got disabled after WhatsApp released the ability to send HD media and now made a comeback by let users send HD images by default.
Currently, being tested among the beta testers on WhatsApp for Android.
WhatsApp getting 3rd party messaging support.
WhatsApp in Europe is going to get message interoperability. For an instance users might use WhatsApp to text someone in Telegram and vise versa.
Currently, WhatsApp is working on this feature due to EU regulations and hopefully this will be available soon.
Improved App lock in WhatsApp
WhatsApp enabled an Improved App lock which will let users use multiple authentication methods like fingerprint, passcodes, passwords, face and other unique identifiers.
Previously, users were able to use only fingerprint unlock in Android.
Currently, the improved app lock is only being tested among WhatsApp beta testers on Android.
Swipe gesture navigation is back on WhatsApp Android
WhatsApp again testing the swipe navigation in Android. This was disabled after WhatsApp started following M3 design principals and now WhatsApp seems like they heard their users and brought it back.
Currently only available for beta WhatsApp beta testers for Android.
Pin UpTo 3 messages in WhatsApp
WhatsApp users can now pin UpTo 3 messages in a chat.
This is available globally to everyone as announced by Mark Zuckerberg.
WhatsApp also launched the ability to reply messages inside community announcement group to everyone.
