AI-generated stickers in WhatsApp
WhatsApp is testing the ability to generate stickers from Text prompts. This is part of WhatsApp’s Meta AI integration.
Currently, the AI sticker generator for WhatsApp is being tested for some WhatsApp beta testers on Android and iOS only.
Email verification for WhatsApp
Now users can verify WhatsApp accounts with email addresses. This will simplify the verification of WhatsApp accounts easier.
Additionally, It appears to be the first step towards usernames for WhatsApp.
Currently, the email verification for WhatsApp is only being tested among WhatsApp beta testers.
Minor changes spotted in WhatsApp android
WhatsApp added a new context menu shortcut to lock chats
WhatsApp testing the ability to long press and lock chats quickly from the context menu.
Currently, the ability to quickly lock chats is available to WhatsApp Android beta testers only.
New privacy settings option called “Chat lock” in WhatsApp
WhatsApp Messenger added a new privacy settings option called “Chat lock” to manage all locked chats and users can also manage secret codes for the locked chats.
Currently, chat lock settings for WhatsApp is now available for some beta testers.
Pin & Archive WhatsApp community chats
WhatsApp is testing the ability to let users Pin and Archive community group chats. Additionally, users can also pin announcement groups as well.
Currently, the ability to pin & archive community chats is being tested for WhatsApp Android beta testers.
Stickers in the WhatsApp channel
WhatsApp channel admins can now post stickers as WhatsApp messages in the channel.
Currently, Channel admins use beta versions of WhatsApp and are the only people who can post stickers in channels.
Changes spotted in WhatsApp web and WhatsApp for Windows
Filter chat with a Calender in WhatsApp web
WhatsApp Web added the ability to search for a specific date by giving a calendar search filter.
WhatsApp for Windows got a small UI change
WhatsApp for Windows got a new accent colour similar to WhatsApp mobile, a new logo, and a splash screen.
Additionally, WhatsApp also re-enabled the ability to share one-time media for desktops.
