Meta Products Changes
WhatsApp changes
WhatsApp is testing the “Admin Delete” feature.
WhatsApp is testing a new Admin Delete feature on WhatsApp android. This means the admin of a group can now delete messages from participants to everyone.
Once the deletion is done WhatsApp will also show a label message to express that admin is deleted that message. Currently, WhatsApp is testing this with selective users and will be available soon.
Further, WhatsApp recently increased the delete message timer to 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds to 2 days, 12 hours.
WhatsApp getting a refresh on text statuses with a new link card and compact view.
WhatsApp is testing a new rich link preview card for text statuses which will show a link meta card on top of the links on WhatsApp statuses as follows.
further, WhatsApp also tests a more compact and reader-friendly view for text status updates as well.
Currently, these tests are rolling out to specific beta testers and WhatsApp android and hopefully, WhatsApp will roll out these changes to everyone soon.
WhatsApp Desktop beta (UWP) got waveforms
Finally, WhatsApp released the voice waveform UI change to the UWP version of the WhatsApp desktop.
This feature is available in the latest version of WhatsApp UWP and you get it by updating it from the Microsoft store.
Facebook changes
Facebook’s new “Feed Tab” is now widely available.
As we covered in the previous week Facebook launched a new Feed Tab where users can easily filter the feeds as All, Favourite, Friends, Groups and Pages.
Currently, this feature is rolling out widely to more users around the globe.
Google Products Changes
Google Duo is now Google Meet
As Google already announced Google rebranded Google Duo (its video calling app) as Google Meet with all features of Google Meet.
Google rapidly rolled out this rebrand to a wide range of users.
Google is giving a much-needed feature to large-screen Androids
Multi-tasking is the key use case for large screen devices and drag and drop will make it a more intuitive experience. Now users can easily drag text or images from apps, such as Chrome or Sheets, and drop that content right into an existing document or spreadsheet cell.
and the support for drag and drop is drastically spreading over google apps. Like Google Keep, Google Photos, Sheet, Drive, and Doc have already got the support.
As you can see you can drag and drop multiple files at a time as well. Currently, Google is rolling out these features widely in a rapid phase.
Google also rolled out the new Gmail experience to everyone as we previously covered the new Gmail experience will give a more intuitive experience across Google Products.
Other Products Changes
Spotify getting a redesigned “Now Playing” UI and “record button” for podcasts.
Spotify is testing a whole new Now playing UI with restructured buttons, layout and also with quick access to up next queue for Spotify podcasts as well as Music.
and Spotify also getting a new “record button” to let listeners quickly record their feedback as a podcast episode itself.
Currently, these features are in the testing phase and will be released to everyone soon.
